Many of us need to learn to bring a deeper attention to our internal processes as a way of making our feelings and our needs a more conscious part of what motivates us. In doing so we discover the "real self" inside rather than the voice of shame and we give the self a greater chance to grow.
Sometimes I go thru periods of time when I cannot get a "deeper attention"to my internal process of feelings and needs. I have blocked those out for so long, that it seems like I cannot get there. Other times, my feelings bring me right to the internal "goings on" of my self.
I find that both interesting and frustrating that I cannot get a more conscious motivation. I guess I need more patience with myself and to just remember to keep practicing meditation instead of "unconsciousness."

The more conscious motivation spoken of in the post comes directly from our gradually increasing awareness of our feelings which announce our needs.
